11:29 a.m. - 2006-07-07 I was in yahoo chat with my two kids, one who is in Florida and the other here in Indiana. The one in Indiana has two kids, herself, but we all knew about them. It’s the kid in Florida that took me by surprise. I knew that he had traveled with circuses and stuff, but it’s the first time that I knew he had kids. Not that I don’t talk to my son a lot. He left home at 17 to join a circus. No, it’s not the beginning of a story. The boy left home 6 months shy of his 18th birthday to roam the planet. I don’t know why except that I had told him that since he wouldn’t keep a job and kept stealing from me I was going to put him on a bus to Virginia to live with his father. I came home that next day to a note that said he went to Florida with some friends. A few things came up missing, too, like some money and I think some electronic stuff. It’s been 8 years so I am kind of fuzzy on the details. I debated for days on whether to call the police or not and get him as a run a way, but after pondering it for a week I figured that he would just take off again so why bother. They have more important things to worry about than a confused 17 year boy old who won’t deal with his issues. *sigh* So, after my daughter logged off for bed it all came out in conversation. My son told me he had two in Russia and one in Bulgaria. Oh yeah, it gets better! He also told me he had been married once in California, but she got attacked by a shark when they were surfing and was killed. OMG! I have two grandchildren and had a daughter in law I didn’t even know I had! OMG! I am still reeling from the shock! I mean, come on, you don’t find out you have grandchildren, and have had them for years, with out feeling some level of surprise!
