10:59 a.m. - 2006-03-01 I have one broker who may be able to get the deal I want, which is basically just the same payment I have now, but at a fixed rate. That is all I need and all I want. I don’t need money to pay off anything. No credit cards or car loans or any loans of any kind, just a fixed rate and about the same payment. I don’t have the best credit history in the world, but it’s better than we thought it would be with two bankruptcies. Yeah, you read that right! TWO bankruptcies! Men were involved; nuff said! At least it would take another blog entry to explain. So I try to go online to check out my pay off and history and things and can’t get online. It tells me that my account is unavailable on line. That’s interesting considering that I sometimes make my payments on line and have no problem getting online. I call the CUSTOMER CARE number and get an irritating voice (aren’t they all after the first 100 times you listen to the crap?) and go through the push this button for this and push that button for that spiel! I do everything I am told to do by the irritating recorded voice and get absolutely nowhere. There is no button to push to help you with the ‘I-can’t-get-on-line’ problem. There is, however, a pay off button to push! Cool! I push that number on my touch tone phone and get……..that they don’t give that information over the phone and I have to send my request by mail with all the appropriate forms filled out and my blood type and stuff like that there! CRAP! I do what every red blooded American woman does by this time. I keep hitting buttons hoping that the stupid computer voice will transfer me over to a real human. But no! The damn thing tells me that it didn’t understand the buttons I pushed and then it…wait for it…..just a little longer…..it HANGS UP ON ME! WTF?!! I have been hung up on by a machine! AARRGGGGGHHHHH! @#$*@#$*+%$#@&^%$#* I call again and go through the same thing a few more times and then one last time and finally get a person. She tells me that she will put the pay off information in the mail. But of course the refi dude wants more information (which I used to be able to get online) and I can’t get anyone to help me! Time for my lawyer to kick in now I think. Either that or an AK-47 and a drive by!
